About Us
A quiet room, shared shelves, and a big idea: learning should feel like a neighbour helping, not a lecture hall judging.
From Shared Shelves to Shared Screens.
Fernbrook Reading Room opened on Fernbrook Lane as a place to borrow books and drink tea. When neighbours started asking for help with homework, job applications and “that computer stuff”, we began evening classes at the big table.
Today the table is bigger: short online lessons, working teachers and mentors who answer around the clock — with the same patience as that first evening. Thousands of learners have finished a course with us, and the kettle is still on.
Three habits behind every lesson.
Short on purpose
No hour-long lectures. Lessons average under ten minutes so a busy day still fits two or three — and progress stays visible.
Real things first
Every track builds real outcomes: a portfolio, a budget plan, a working program, a finished dish. Theory follows practice, never the reverse.
Humans on hand
Stuck at midnight? Mentors answer around the clock. Reviews are kind and specific — you always know the next step.
